Hévíz
Unforgettable experience in every season
The lake of Hévíz one of the biggest biologically active, natural medicinal water in the world. Its temperature is affected by the combination of cold and hot spring waters coming from underground. The medicinal water breaks out from the spring cave on the surface ca. 410 litres per second and with a temperature of 40°C. The water in the lake changes every three and a half days and keeps uniformly clean.

Specialities of Hévíz Treatment
Both cure are suitable for complex physiotherapy treatments, and for the treatment of all kinds of rheumatic and locomotive diseases.
Weight Bath: relieving pressure on discs and nerve roots · relieving muscle spasms · reducing ligament and muscle contractions.
The unique medicinal mud of Hévíz contains organic and inorganic substances, and reduced sulphides also have special healing effects.
Experiments prove that it also has unique beauty effects: it removes waste products, increases cell metabolism, increases collagen production, and the minerals in it replenish the body. It is excellent for smoothing out wrinkles on the face, neck and décolletage, and when used as a treatment, it can also be used for shaping. During its regular use, it increases the defense capacity of the immune system.
dr. Károly Moll (1889–1982) was a doctor who gained the world's attention and recognition mostly by inventing the weight bath.
The basis of the weight bath is to remove the vertebrae of the spine from each other, to lengthen the spinal column, thereby creating the original healthy state for the duration of the treatment.

The lake's flora and fauna are unique due to the temperature and composition of the water. Some of Hungary's plant and animal species can only be found here and one of the most spectacular of these is the water lily.
Drinking Cure
The official effects of the drinking therapy using the thermal water of Hévíz can be obviously experienced by those suffering from acute gastro-enteritis and digestive disorders.
Naturally, just like every other thermal water, there are contraindications for using the healing water of Hévíz: the consumption of the sulphuric water must be avoided in the case of acute hepatitis and cholangitis or increased thyroid function.
Fairy of the lake
Since the beginning of May 2000, Jenő Molnár's work has been decorating the space in front of the entrance to the Tófürdő. The right hand of the female figure rests on the coat of arms of the city of Hévíz, on the left side is the symbolic figure of a cherub protecting the lake from evil spirits. It is surrounded by a small lake, in which goldfish swim in the summer.
Cherubs
The main entrance of Tófürdő is guarded by two cherubs, which are from the 19th-20th century. They were commissioned by the Festetics family at the turn of the century and are very similar to the Pécs cherubs of the Zsolnay family. The dragon made of a lion and an eagle can also be found in the official coat of arms of the city of Hévíz.
Cherubs served the gods in the mythology of the ancient Semitic peoples. They stood in front of the gates and kept the evil spirits away.
